Saturday 14th saw two of the VSH boys travel to the Meadows EC to gain qualifying marks for the National Championships. Amadeus obtained one Elementary mark at Marlton Festival earlier on in the season so we were delighted when he got his second one. He won his class with 77%. However, the real star was our new 4yr old. 'Wunderbar' arrived from Holland the previous Friday having never competed at a show before. He went and competed in two Prelim classes to try to qualify for the Nationals and also for the experience. However, the event didn't phase him in the slightest gaining 70% to win and 71% to finish 2nd! With all the horses now qualified for the Nationals, we now a few weeks free to concentrate on getting the horses ready and working towards their next level.

Its been sooo long since this has been updated and huge apologies for the delay but everyone has been so busy recently, there just aren't enough hours in the day! Well Ciara and Merlin have returned home from the Europeans having had an amazing time. She thoroughly enjoyed the experience and came home delighted with her super pony. Unfortunately he is now on the market for sale but she is looking forward to looking for her next project!

Our boys are also all home safe and sound from Hickstead. The 4yr old stallion Beaulero was amazing! He took the whole journey and atmosphere in his stride so the next few years with him will be very exciting. Florenciano also travelled and performed incredibly well. He is a very noise reactive horse so we weren't sure how he would deal with the pressure of the International arena but he proved all us wrong by producing some of the best work he has ever done! Little Amadeus also behaved impecibly for both Ashleigh in the Prelim championship and for Nicola McKee, who rode him fantastically well through the young horse class. The real star of the team was Zugaro. He placed 6th in teh Elementary, 8th in the Young Horse 6yr old and 10th in a hugely competitive Medium. He pulled out every stop possible and held his own beautifully amoungst the best Britain has to offer.

On the home front, the brown mare that was brought over from Holland has unfortunately returned. The Vision Team has always been based on talent and temperment both, and unfortunately although she was a super mover, her temperment just wasn't quite right for us to produce and confidently and happily sell on. On the bright side, the 3 yr old chestnut gelding by Santano has successfully had two wolf teeth removed, had a couple of weeks off and is now back in work. He is working really well so hopefully get some pictures and details of him up on the For Sale page in the coming weeks.

Our final new arrival is a 16hh 4yr old chestnut gelding by World of Dreams. He is riding beautifully already so we will also post some details and pictures of him on the For Sale page as well.

If you have any enquiries about any of the horses, don't hesitate to contact Carolyn at any stage.

Congratulations to Ciara Rowe and Reekamps Saladin!! The pair travelled down to Marlton Stud at the weekend to compete at the Under 25 Championships and got on fantastically well. She was competing at Medium level and came home delighted with her good scores and pleasing comments from the judges. Well done Ciara!!!
Having sold her brown gelding Fabio, Sandra Craig is now the proud owner of a lovely Dutch bay mare, VSH Arissa, or Lola to her friends. So far the pair are getting on brilliantly together and we are all looking forward to seeing the pair out together on the dressage circuit!! Laughing

(19-06-10)

Our new Dutch and German babies have arrived!! 9am Tuesday morning the transporter arrived with the latest two members of the VSH team. See the news page for more details.

(11-06-10)

Well the babies have left us now and made their way up to Wini & Frankie McFarlane's for the summer months. Growing like mad and bolder by the day! The new VSH members are ready to come across the channel to join us in Comber. We have two 3yr olds, a bay mare and a chestnut gelding, and a 5yr old bay mare on-route so hopefully will be with us early next week. Keep an eye on the 'For Sale' pages for further details and pictures once they arrive.
After a successful and enjoyable Marlton Festival, all routes now lead to Hickstead!!!

(06-06-10)

All at the VSH yard would like to send a massive congratulations message to Billy Adrain and Richard Murray after their success at Mullingar at the weekend. Richard bought 'Copney' off Jo-Anne Gibson last year in the hope to restore his confidence and introduce him back into the show jumping arena. After a very successful season last year and this year so far with Richard, Billy partnered the horse to an incredible 2nd place in the Puissance competition. They cleared the red wall at a massive 1.90m and just tipped the triple bar at 1.75m!! Well done to the three boys from us!

(25-05-10)

The weather has been amazing!! our grass is green and our two babies are now huge!! Carolyn has just returned home from Holland and has spent a very hectic two days looking at horses. The shortlist has been made so hopefully we will be able to introduce everyone to the next VSH members soon. Pammy Hutton was over with us for a few days last week doing a clinic in preparation for Marlton at the beginning of June. The boys all worked really well despite the stifling heat!

(09-05-10)

Well our two Zugaro babies are doing really well. Dior's dark brown filly has been named VSH Zugara, after her sire, but will be known as Lipsy at home. The jury is still out on names for Katie's black filly!! Hurry up Wini!!
After a nice relaxing week after Cavan, the boys are back into full work again, just in time for Ashleigh going away to Windsor for a week. She is heading over to the show as part of Raymond Jess' arena party which she is really looking forward to.
Hopefully we will get another wee trip to Holland in at some stage this month too, see if we can't find our next superstar! Then it will be all guns blazing in preparation for Marlton Festival on the 5th and 6th of June

(02-05-10)

What amazing luck! The day VSH Zugaro wins the Elementary Championship at Cavan Festival, his second foal is born. 'Dior' was ever so kind and waited until we had all returned from the festival before deciding to foal a stunning dark brown filly at 23.30! So far, both mothers and babies are doing well.

(30-04-10)

Well the 1st Zugaro foal has finally arrived!!! Frankie & Wini McFarlane's 4yr old 'Painted Black' mare foaled last nite at 12.05am. She was less than half an hour in labour and foaled a stunning jet black filly. She has a silvery muzzle so we are now deliberating as to whether she will take after her daddy and turn grey! Will hopefully get some photos up once we come home from Cavan.

(26-04-10)

Well all things at the VSH yard have been pretty quiet of late. All the boys....and girls....are doing  well. The rugs that VSH have sponsored for the festival arrived a few days ago and they are lovely so hopefully the overall section winners will like them! Our new saddle also arrived last week, Sue Carson flew over to fit one to our chestnut gelding Florenciano. Looking forward to trying it out at Cavan too. 'Katie' is still holding tight onto her baby, had a few restless nights but no foal as yet. 'Dior', our other filly, is also looking like she is a few days away yet as well. Hope its not when we are away!!!

(12-04-10)

Just week now for 'Katie'! This lovely 4yr old 'Painted Black' filly is due next Sunday to our own Zugaro and she is looking fantastic. We are also proud to announce that we are the title sponsors for the Northern Ireland Dressage Festival at Cavan for the 2nd year. We are delighted to be supporting this event and wish it every success.

(31-03-10)
Well, the baby monitoring cameras were installed by Adrian and Eric today. Cant believe we have less than 3 weeks to go now!! Our gorgeous grey 5yr old Absolute Turbo went through the vet on Tuesday with flying colours so he will be off to his new home in Wicklow this weekend. There will be plenty of tears shed, especially from Ashleigh ( !! ), but we're all sure his new mummy - Ruth Chadwick - will look after him so well and we are looking forward to seeing him out competing with her. Finally, Ciara Rowe's lovely little pony stallion, Reekamps Saladin has gone onto the market for sale. Ciara, now 16, has outgrown the little guy but he is now ready to go on and teach another kid everything he knows. More details on the 'For Sale' page.

(26-03-10)
Having returned home from Scotland, we have had a few much needed quiet days to recuperate. Our 3yr old filly is now HUGE and we are all really looking forward to the foaling. Only problem now is that she is due the week before Cavan Festival........logistics could be fun!!!

(07-03-10)
Well so much has been going on recently! Had a few fantastic nights out recently. We all looked out our fancy dresses and headed out to the North Down Hunt Ball which turned out to be a great night. Hopefully will get some pictures up at a later stage once ive had a chance to screen through them!!! We also planned a surprise birthday party for Carolyn on Friday night. She was convinced she knew what we were up to but thankfully......not a clue!! Packing is also well under way for our trip to Scotland on Thursday, finding space for everything is proving to be a logistical nightmare but we'll get there!

(19-02-10)
Our little VSH Debutant 'aka' O'Brian to his friends found a lovely new home this week and will be leaving the Vision stables this weekend. We wish him and his new mummy many happy days of fun!!!

(15-02-10)
Stables are done! Woohoo!! No more noisy power tools!

(09-02-10)
Stables are getting there! Roof started today so now we have a nice blue tarpaulin to contend with...along with the nail gun and Adrian up a ladder!!! Got new stones in the yard and fresh sand in the school so everywhere starting to look much better after the ice and snow. Looking forward to Laurel View at the weekend, get the babies out and see how they cope.

(28-01-10)
Building sites are such fun with young horses....we are currently getting 2 new stables built but its taking a while for the boys to become comfortable with a nail gun!!
Our lovely pregnant 3yr old filly is getting larger by the day...roll on April and, hopefully, the arrival of the 1st Zugaro foal.

(10-01-10)
Absolutely fantastic!!! Finally starting to thaw! Got all the boys and girls out today for the first and god were they glad of it!

(04-01-10)
Its not good when you have to start fillin 10 water buckets due to frozen pipes Cry

(03-01-10)
When is this freezing weather going to go away!!! Horses are sooo bored, and the jockeys are getting fat! lol
